Ai pren yw Crist? mae'r byd yn rhad,
Yn cael o'i ddail ef lawn iachad:
  Ai rhosyn yw? nid Saron fwyn
  Ei fath erioed a allodd ddwyn.

Y Pen yw ef, pob aelod sydd
Yn cael oddiwrtho fywiol fudd;
  Y seintiau fry ac yn y byd
  A unwyd ynddo ef i gyd.

Is Christ a tree? the world is freely,
Getting from his leaves full healing:
  Is he a rose? not gentle Sharon
  Could ever bear his kind.

The Head he is, every member is
Getting from him lively benefit;
  The saints above and in the world
  Were all united in him.

Is he a tree? The world receives
Salvation from his healing leaves;
  Is he a rose? Not Sharon yields
  Such fragrancy in all her fields.

Is he the head? Each member lives,
And owns the vital powers he gives;
  The saints below and saints above
  Joined by his Spirit and his love.
